Galway Bay

Day 196. Year of Queens. The boys of the NYPD choir still singing Galway Bay - and the bells are ringing out for Christmas Day. We are grateful.

Year of Queens. Day 197. And we rocked out in a small room in a small home on a dirt road in the Swannanoa Mountains. Does it matter? In the scale of things? Not really. But it was a wonderful night making up songs that made us smile and move and shout and laugh.

Year of Queens. Day 198. It’s not that we’re not afraid. It’s just being afraid doesn’t serve us anymore. It’s not that we don’t understand that this is dumb and dorky to stand up on stage and dance around to our little pop songs. Just think about it for a second. We write pop songs and sing them on a stage, in front of people, like they’re the most important things in the world…. and then laugh. It’s so foolish. But all these ideas of what is cool and what isn’t cool - they don’t serve us anymore.

Day 199. Year of Queens. I don’t know if anything we do will amount to anything - and I don’t care. I just want practices like today to keep on happening.
