St Patrick’s Day

Year of Kings. Day 299. And… just because… Bayla got out the washboard and played on “Trouble.” Why not? This raises the question of - what kind of music is this? It’s pop songs with traditional musical instruments created by a gang who have deep roots in punk and art and new wave and dancing around and having fun.

Year of Kings. Day 300. One last thing about recording with Kevin Moloney - we went recording with him right after our show at the Orange Peel. We started the recording session by playing two songs that were the center of the Orange Peel show, because we knew them, we were most confident of those songs. Now, listening to the recordings those two songs aren’t the strongest - we’ve already changed and grown and moved forward. That’s exciting for us.

Year of Kings. Day 301. Practice space tonight. There’s an idea that the band - all together - should listen to the recordings, have that moment, and then move on to what we need to do to play a 3 hour show on St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday at Shiloh & Gaines. Have that moment and then prepare for another massive show.

Year of Kings. Day 302. We had practice and celebrated Kyrie’s birthday. Bayla like to make cakes which are in the shape of certain parts of the human anatomy. They we drank a little Irish whiskey and played some music. Craig started us off - because his singing clears out all the bad spirits and invites the good spirits in. It’s magic.

Year of Kings. Day 303. Love is Punk (tm). It’s a little too much Joy Division - but we’re starting to play around with graphics.

Year of Kings. Day 304. Come on out tonight for St. Patrick’s Day. You won’t be bored.

Year of Kings. Day 305. Show 29. Shiloh & Gaines. Great space. Great sound. Great crowd. Saw this sign on the wall.
